Erosion at the Bellport property wasn’t a cosmetic issue — it was threatening the foundation of the home. Tidal influence and overland stormwater flow were actively destabilizing the site, and a conventional fix wasn’t going to hold.
Spadefoot designed and installed a diverse native planting tailored specifically to the demands of a tidally influenced, salt-tolerant environment. Species were selected for their ability to absorb water, anchor soil, and thrive under the stress of periodic tidal inundation – while also supporting pollinators. Milkweed and other pollinator plants were woven into the planting, turning a functional erosion solution into a productive habitat layer.
Completed in three days, the project stopped the erosion and stabilized the site. The planting has since contributed to local pollinator biodiversity, with the native species creating the kind of layered ecological value that conventional erosion control simply can’t deliver.
Spadefoot completely transformed our backyard. They removed all the invasive plants and replaced them with beautiful native species.
